At Memphis Rox, we believe climbing is the ultimate metaphor for overcoming life’s obstacles. Through weekly training sessions, The SoulSenders, our youth climbing programs, receive mentorship that not only helps them grow on the wall, but instills skills like cooperation, persistence and leadership that empower them off the wall, too. Our programs support youth ages 5 – 18, with a focus on beginners as well as the experienced who want to bolster their technique in a supportive environment. A parent or legal guardian must complete the form in order for youth to enroll.

The Competition Program is dedicated to ensure students are capable of achieving the highest level of success in competition climbing. Students will be challenged mentally, physically, and technically, while also learning broader concepts about climbing and movement. The program divides students into four categories of competition readiness, starting with the Open Category, then Qualifiers, Semi-finalists and Finalists. Each category of placement expands on the training and technical concepts of the last, aimed at developing holistic climbers and athletes.
Placement in the competitive team requires coach recommendation and a minimum of 6 months in one of the other SoulSenders climbing programs or 1.5 years of climbing experience.
The Soulsenders Club provides a safe and fun learning environment to learn entry climbing techniques, meet other youth climbers, and enjoy many different climbing drills and games! Students will learn proper warm up methods, be challenged through practice activities and engage in basic climbing conditioning and calisthenics. Practice activities conclude with coaches and students learning and interacting through free climbing.
Do you have a young one eager to climb? Our Soulsenders Starter Program is designed for students ages 5-8, focusing on learning safety and falling technique in an encouraging environment. Students will play climbing games, engage in coordination and balance drills, and learn general climbing proprioception.
No individual is turned away for the inability to pay the monetary fees. Scholarship opportunities are available upon request.

Are you interested in sponsoring a student to join one of our climbing programs? The cost for a child to climb is $2,500 annually. Your support enables us to eliminate social and economic barriers not only to climbing, but to the resources and relationships behind youth development through organized sport.
The youth program highly benefits from donated climbing shoes (either resoled or in moderate to good condition) and other re-usable outdoor gear and apparel. If your student or your gym has outgrown or outdated gear, please consider donating to the SoulSenders program. Any harnesses or belay devices must be new and in original packaging.
